Description
Salmonberries are usually the first to fruit, in early spring; but in the high altitudes of Mount Rainier National Park, spring doesn't arrive until August, and whatever blooms there must put on its fruit in a hurry if it hopes to create the chance for new life.

I love the greens of the ripening fruit. I can't wait for it to ripen. Salmonberry mixed with Blue Huckleberry makes an awesome jam.

The leaf and fruit resemble raspbery or blackberry!
Sean Griffin replied:
They do, indeed, Rose. The finished fruit differs only in the color - bright orange.
