Artist's Description
This stunning view of Weavers Needle, a 993-foot high stone monolith, is reserved for hikers who have reached Fremont Saddle in the Arizona's Superstition Mountains after hiking a relatively short but grueling trail up Peralta Canyon. The fabled Lost Dutchman's Mine is said to lie within the shadow of the needle, which could span a great deal of the surrounding terrain.

Sean Griffin (b. 1949- ) is an award-winning American fine art and portrait photographer who divides his time between the beautiful Pacific Northwest of the United States and the lush Sonoran Desert of Arizona. His work has been recognized by The Smithsonian, among others. In addition to his paid work, he is a volunteer photographer for Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep, a non-profit organization providing remembrance photos for families whose babies will not be coming home from the hospital. Donations of his art have benefited the Susan Komen Foundation for Breast Cancer Research, the Seabury School, the Nisqually Nature Center and the Anderson Island Historical Society.
