Artist's Description

An enormous Texas flag is unfurled as a backdrop at the last University of Texas Hex Rally on Nov. 22, 2011. In 1941, a fortune-teller advised Longhorns that if they lit red candles, doing so would put a hex on arch-rival Texas A&M and end a nine-year losing streak. It did. They won 23-0 that year, and have lit candles before the big game ever since. With Texas A&M joining a different conference in 2012, the 2011 marked the final rally until both are champions of their respective conferences and compete once again.
