Who knows what killed this saguaro? Disease? Lightning? Whatever, this sturdy denizen of Arizona's Sonoran Desert has been standing for a long time. It typically takes 70 years or so for a saguaro to gets its first arm, and this unique-to-the-Sonoran Desert denizen can live 200 years or more.
