Description
One of the most self-contradictory trees to some out of South America is the Floss-silk tree, also known as the Silk-Floss tree. It's hibiscus-like blossom is almost absurdly, beautiful and delicate, yet its trunk is saturated with thorns large enough to be protruding knife blades. This one was captured in a garden at Escondido, California.
