Sometimes when everyone's attention is captured in one direction, I look to see if there's anything interesting in the other. In this case, the other passengers crossing Puget Sound aboard the Ferry "Christine Anderson" were captivated by a lovely, late summer sunset, as was I. Then I turned around and saw the beautiful pattern of the ferry's wake, it's ripples almost creating a moire and reflecting spectral colors. That's the summit of 14,401-foot Mount Rainier rising above the clouds in the distance.
Sean Griffin (b. 1949- ) is an award-winning American fine art and portrait photographer who divides his time between the beautiful Pacific Northwest of the United States and the lush Sonoran Desert of Arizona. His work has been recognized by The Smithsonian, among others. In addition to his paid work, he is a volunteer photographer for Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep, a non-profit organization providing remembrance photos for families whose babies will not be coming home from the hospital.
